Senior Banker

Our client has a senior sales and marketing role in the UK private banking business of a global bank. He had this to say about the coaching process, "I have a job to do with hefty targets. I wanted to get into focus on a business level and a personal level with an action plan that was both achievable and workable. The problem was that I felt that I was not going to make it, I was failing. I was always fire fighting instead of doing something constructive.

"The Values Partnership coaching opened up the realisation that what I want to do is achievable, and brought a renewed focus and structure back into my routine with a daily and weekly action plan. I started to look beyond the present to the future where the current role could take me. I have a life map for both career and personally.

"The indentification of strengths was useful. I already knew these strengths but I can now play my trump card, they are tools I can use. For example, I really enjoy getting to know people, I care about them. I don’t shy away from doing this anymore. I’m not embarrassed to take time to get to know them because this is how I best work. I do my business my way now. I can be myself in my working environment and be more expressed.

"Getting clear about my values has given me a better sense of who I am and what I stand for. It centres me. It’s what I’m about. How many people can say that? I feel it makes me more productive. I don't have to seek anyone's acceptance anymore, I don't care what people think. It takes away a barrier with prospects, clients and colleagues.

"My role is networking and I am being much more effective. I must be giving off something. Doors are opening, and I am relaxed that it will result in lots of business. I know I can’t fail because I’m working from my strengths. The coaching was a good investment."
