Functions Contributing to the Bottom LineHow often have you heard the Finance Department criticised for being "the police"? Or Compliance for being "box tickers"? Or HR for being "good for nothing but 'comp' and 'ben'"? Based initially on the highly successful experience one of our consultants had with supporting the leaders of the finance department of a global multinational make a significant contribution to profitability, we have developed a methodology to support functions within organisations - Finance, HR, R&D, IT, Legal & Compliance - to reorientate their focus towards the corporate bottom line. We believe artificial barriers emerge in organisations between the 'front office' personnel and the functions, who come to be regarded as merely a necessary cost. Our approach is to replace these barriers with possibilities for functional personnel to identify specific ideas where they can enhance the bottom line, and create real opportunities to do so, gathering support from the leadership to turn them into reality. |
