Integrating New Mergers and Acquisitions
Emanating from our work on a large merger integration project in the shipping industry, we have developed an approach to merger and acquisitions that goes beyond cost cutting and redundancies to enhance value. Our work aligns and mobilizes the combined work force on the new company's strategic objectives to capture the integration synergies. We focus on: - Determining the complementarity of strengths in the new leadership team, and enhancing the way the members integrate and work together
- Undertaking a company wide on-line survey to identify areas of strength in the merged organisation to be enhanced, as well as areas of misalignment for development or remedial action
- Creating action plans with the business leaders based on the recommendations arising from the survey results
- Aligning on shared values and purpose intentionally to create the culture for the new organisation
- Creating projects to generate integration breakthroughs, such as merging IT systems, back office or sales forces
- Coaching senior management in leading the creation of a new culture by fulfilling the project goals, and communicating with the work force in ways that embed the change.
